Audemars Piguet's latest Royal Oak Concept luxury replica watches features a new luminous carbon case
Aude Piguet debuted its new Chroma Forged technology in its latest 43mm Royal Oak Concept watch. CFT enables the forged carbon case to be decorated with blue luminous fibers. It features flyback chronograph, split-seconds chronograph, 24-hour GMT, and large date display.
When people think of Audemars Piguet, they most likely think of high-end movement finishing, hand-finished cases, and of course, the Royal Oak. But the biggest difference between the brand and other Holy Trinity brands (and many others) is its willingness to work hard when it comes to material innovation. Whether it's exploring new colors for ceramics or developing new gold alloys, Audemars Piguet's youthful spirit, despite its long-standing position at the pinnacle of watchmaking, allows the brand to be both traditional and fashionable. The Royal Oak Concept best replica watches has become a collector's playground that allows us to see the brand's ultimate sense of exploration.
Speaking of material innovation, Audemars Piguet claims to have launched its first forged carbon cased watch, the Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Chronograph (ref. 26062FS) in 2007. This was by no means an isolated example, as Audemars Piguet subsequently launched other forged carbon creations, such as the Millennium Carbon One (ref. 26152AU) in 2009 and the Royal Oak Concept Lap Chronograph 26221FT, launched in collaboration with F1 GOAT Michael Schumacher in 2015. The last Audemars Piguet forged carbon watch, the Royal Oak Offshore Queen Elizabeth II Cup Chronograph (ref. 26406FR), was released in 2016 and is still in use today. After an eight-year hiatus and five years of research and development in forged carbon, Audemars Piguet proudly unveils a 43mm Royal Oak Concept watch featuring a new type of forged carbon, a split-seconds chronograph, GMT and a large date display, and a luminous case thanks to a new process the brand calls Chroma Forged Technology.
Looking at this high quality replica watches in daylight, the first thing you’ll probably notice is its massive size – 43mm in diameter and 17.4mm thick. Speaking from experience having tried on other Royal Oak Concept watches, you might be surprised at how Audemars Piguet has somehow maximized the ergonomics of the case. It’s still big and substantial, but it’s comfortable to wear – at least for its size. Then, when you look more closely at the forged carbon case, you’ll see the blue and white flecks and swirls inside. That’s where CFT, or Chroma Forged Technology, comes into play. CFT allows Audemars Piguet to “color the carbon fibers directly instead of the resin and arrange them as needed in the produced component.” Using CFT, both blue and white are incorporated into the carbon material, with the white glowing blue in the dark when charged.
Audemars Piguet explains: “The manufacturing process involves multiple steps and great expertise. The carbon fibre is first cut into small pieces and coloured with pigments. A wide range of colours can be produced, allowing for a wide range of creative developments. The coloured carbon pieces are then manually placed into a mould according to the intended design and finished with resin. This process is repeated to build up multiple layers, like a mille-feuille. The contents of the mould are then compressed to obtain a block without air bubbles. Finally, the mixture is placed in an autoclave and cured under pressure for around ten hours to bring out the properties of the resin and produce a carbon block, which is then machined for six to eight hours to create the final component. Because the mixing stage is carried out by hand, each case middle produced has a slightly different pattern, making it a unique piece that perfectly combines cutting-edge technology and the expertise of the artisans of Le Brassus.” According to the renderings, the case has an almost celestial quality – like a galaxy seen from many light years away. replica watches for sale
Driving this extremely complex super sports car watch is the in-house 70-hour calibre 4407. The automatic movement contains a ton of complications, including a big date, 24-hour GMT, and a flyback split-second chronograph. With all these complications, it’s no surprise that the case size is larger.
Whatever you think of the aesthetics and size of this Royal Oak Concept ref. 26650FO.OO.D353CA.01, at $206,800, it’s not a watch that everyone will be drawn to. That being said, I can only speak for myself when I applaud yet another material innovation from one of the most legendary watchmakers in the watch industry. Audemars Piguet’s embrace of modernity may be controversial with purists, but watchmakers like AP have to push the envelope and take risks. Otherwise, horology will become stale. Regardless, Audemars Piguet replica luxury watches should continue to create pieces that please traditionalists, but when it goes modern (e.g., superhero-driven or rave-inspired), I don’t see any benefit in purists trying to hold it back.
