Common financial scams — have any of you almost fallen for one?
Hey all — I’ve been noticing how many people online are getting tricked by financial scams these days, from fake job offers to bogus investment schemes. I found an article that lists several common scams Americans often fall for and gives tips on how to spot them before it’s too late: 6 Common Financial Scams Americans Fall For. It mentions things like investment schemes that promise crazy returns, phishing and fake job posts that ask for upfront money, and more. It made me rethink just how careful I need to be with anything that sounds “too good to be true.” Have you ever almost clicked on something that turned out to be sketchy?

This thread is useful. I’ve had a couple of weird job offers pop up on social media that asked for personal info before even a proper interview, and that always sets off alarm bells for me now. I just assume anything asking you to pay before you earn anything is a red flag. Better safe than sorry — especially when folks are losing serious money to these scams.
